Trip Introduction

Chitwan is one of 77 district of Nepal at an elevation of 415 m. It is also the second largest city after the capital (Kathmandu). This district lies in Terai region of Nepal having Nepal’s one of the first National Park.

Chitwan National Park was established in 1973 AD and it is also taken as the first National Park of Nepal. This National Park was given a status of World Heritage Site since 1984.

Chitwan lies in the Terai region of Nepal providing a tropical monsoon climate with high humidity level all year. Chitwan is one of the major tourist destination of Nepal. This place offers an amazing national park which is home of many endangered animals. Chitwan National Park is the haunt of almost 700 species of wildlife with many unsurveyed butterflies, insects, and moths.

Endangered animals such as Bengal Tiger, One Horned- Rhinoceros, and some snakes such as Rock Python, King cobra can also be seen.

This short tour gives you amazing experiences such as elephant ride and jungle safari into the National Park encountering the mentioned many animals. You will be able to witness and also enjoy the traditional dances performed to welcome you to that beautiful place. Visiting small villages of Tharu people rich in their culture and tradition can be the best decision to know about their lifestyle.

    • Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan 4-5 hours & Village Tour

      Today we will drive to Bharatpur from Kathmandu which will be 6-7 hours long. As you reach Chitwan you will be taken to a hotel where you will be welcomed by a drink.

      We will finish our lunch and after a short rest, you will be taken to nearby villages and elephant breeding center.

      As you return from a short afternoon tour you will be shown a beautiful traditional dance by local people there before your dinner.

      Overnight at Chitwan

    • Cannoning and Jungle Safari

      Today as we finish our breakfast you can have the opportunity to make cannoning along the Rapti River. An excellent way for bird watching and rare species of crocodiles found there such as Fish-eating gharials and Marsh Mugger.

      You will return at noon for lunch and after a short rest, you will be taken for breathtaking Jungle Safari. Your drive will be into grasslands of Chitwan, Jungles crossing small rivers seeking for national park preserved animals.

      Today you will have a free day until your lunch. You can make time for packing your luggage and also make swimming. As you finish your lunch you will be taken for an Elephant ride to nearby places.

    • Drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu 4-5 hours.

      Chitwan is the best destination for bird watching. The birds found here are Cormorants, Lesser Adjutant Stork, Blue Indian Roller, Hornbills, Stor k billed Kingfishers, Grey headed Eagles, Ruby Cheeked Sunbird, Bengal Florican, Largetailed Night jar, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Beaters & Lesser Florican, etc. More than 500 species have been recorded only in Chitwan

      You will have breakfast at around 7:30 AM and you will have the drive to Kathmandu. As you reach Kathmandu you can prepare and make some shopping and pack and make things ready for departure.

    • Final Departure

      Today morning Sherpa Himalaya representative will be there at your hotel for the last meet. You will be dropped at the airport considering airport time.
