Trip Introduction

Pisang Peak (6,091 m) Climbing involves trekking in the famous Annapurna region and summit of Pisang Peak. Additionally, we also visit Muktinath and trek in the beautiful Manang region of Nepal.

Our 18-day journey begins in Kathmandu where we meet our climbing leaders/guides and fellow climbers. We drive to Dharapani the next day and begin trekking from there.

We enjoy views of Annapurna, Tilicho and Gangapurna on our trek leading to Pisang Peak and summit the peak on the ninth day of our journey. The views of the Annapurna ranges, Dhaulagiri and other Himalayas from the top are magnificent.

On our way back we follow the route that leads us to crossing Muktinath which is an important pilgrimage site for Nepalese people. We cross Thorong La Pass which is the highest mountain pass in the world to reach Muktinath.

Our Pisang Peak itinerary also includes the beautiful Jomsom region which will be a worthwhile experience. From Jomsom, we fly to Pokhara and drive to Kathmandu from there, ending our amazing trip in Nepal.

    • Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

      On this day you will be landed at the Capital City of Nepal-Kathmandu (1300m/4265 ft). It is the only International Airport in Nepal. You will be received by Sherpa Himalaya Representative.

      Then with a brief introduction, you will be welcomed by flower Garland. You will be taken to your Hotel where you can rest and freshen up to keep away Jet Lag. You will get a nearby location map from the hotel reception and you can explore around.

    • Day 02
    • Kathmandu (1300m/4264ft): trip preparation

      Today you will also be introduced to your respective Guide for Pisang Peak Climb. If you have anything to buy for your trek then you can purchase it from the stores around. In the evening you will have to pack only the necessary and important items that you need during the Trek and the rest you can either store at Hotel or with Sherpa Himalaya.

      We recommend you use the company Duffel bag as there will be less chance of misplacing in an airport and easier to find in case of missing.

    • Drive from Kathmandu to Dharapani (1,960m/6,430ft): 11-12 hours

      Today we will have a long day drive. As we finish our breakfast we will head towards Dharapani via Besisahar. It will take 6 hours to drive to Besi Sahar by private vehicle. After short rest, we will again have to drive 2 hours long offroad to reach afternoon camp Dharapani.

      This drive will be very interesting and the perfect time to know more about the landscape of Nepal.

    • Dharapani to Chame (2,710m/8,891ft): 5 - 6 hours

      Today is our first Trek day. We will start our Trek from Dharapani, heading towards Chame which is elevated at an altitude of 2710m.

      Your trek will be 5-6 hours long along the riverside enjoying beautiful nature and mountain such as Mt. Lamjung and Mt. Annapurna

    • Chame to Upper Pisang (3,700m/12,136ft): 5-6hours

      After we finish our breakfast we will head towards Pisang.  The trek will be normal with slight slopes. It will take Normally 5 hours to reach Pisang.

      You will find two Pisang; Upper Pisang and Lower Pisang. Your campsite will be Upper Pisang. You can witness Mt. Annapurna II directly from Pisang

    • Day 06
    • Acclimatization
      Acclimatization is an Extra Day where you will be introduced to a new elevation but the overnight will be at the same spot. It is done so to keep your body familiar with the new environment and to escape from Altitude sickness.

      Acclimatization Day will play a vital role to prevent you from Altitude sickness. Today you explore the place around you and learn about the culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the people of the region.

      Overnight at Upper Pisang

    • Upper Pisang to Pisang Peak Base Camp (4,380m/14,370ft): 4-5 hours

      Today as you finish your breakfast, you turn towards Pisang Peak leaving one of the famous trekking trails; Annapurna Circuit Trail. Your trek will be 5-6 hours long.  As you base camp you can prepare with your guide for the climb.

      Overnight at Pisang Base Camp

    • Pisang Peak Base Camp to High Camp (5,400m/17,712ft): 3-4 hours

      Today you will have to climb towards Pisang High Camp. The trail is rocky and if you are climbing during the spring season then, it will be filled with snow. The use of crampon depends upon the trail today. You will have a hard climb to reach Pisang High Camp. You will need 3-4 hours to reach Pisang High Camp.

    • Day 09
    • Summit Pisang Peak (6,091m/19,980ft) and back to base camp: 8-9 hours

      Today will be the total climbing day. You will have to be prepared the previous day with all the gears and you start your climb at night time. Usually, your climb will be from 2-3 am. It is because as the sunrise there may be a risk of small avalanche, loosen of rocks due to melting of ice, and with a bright sun in the snow, it will definitely be a hard climb. The wind is also the major factor that you climb early in the morning. In the morning there will be very wind which makes it a lot easy and safe.

      From 6091m ou will have an amazing view of Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167m, Mt. Manaslu 8163m, Mt. Annapurna Range, Mt. Himal Chuli 7893m, Mt.Ngadi Chuli 7871m, Mt. Gangapurna 7455, and man more peaks. After a beautiful time on the peak, you will descend down to Base Camp.

    • Pisang Peak Base Camp to Manang Valley (3,450m/11,316ft): 5-6 hours

      Today after an adventurous climb of Mt.Pisang 6091 m, you descend towards Manag Village. Today you will again be introduced to the Annapurna Circuit Trail. From this day you will have another adventurous trek of Annapurna Circuit trek. Today your walk will be 5-6 hours long.

      Overnight at Manang

    • Manang to Yak Kharka (4,110m/13,484ft): 3 - 4 hours

      You will now again trek with the usual routine. We will head ahead after having our breakfast. Today our destination is Yak Kharka.

      Yak Kharka is a small village located between two big hills. Today we will have a short Trek which usually takes 4 hours. We will be there at yak Kharka for lunch and explore around.

    • Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorang High Camp 4800m-5-6 hours

      Today your Trek will be longer than the past day. We are now closed to Thorongla Pass. Our today’s camp will be below the pass; which is also known as thorong la pass.

      It will normally Take 5-6 hours, but the trail is not much hard. We will hike normally with gentle slopes and with normal uphills.

      Overnight at Thornag High Camp

    • Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong La (5416m/17764ft), continue trek to Muktinath (3,800/12,467ft): 9-10 hours

      Today is the day to reach up to your final & main destination of this entire Trek. It dreams of millions but only a few take this encouraging trek and make their life filled with beautiful memories and adventure.

      We will trek as we finish our breakfast. We will trek uphill until we reach Thorongla Pass (5416m). The trail is not much difficult.

      After a continuous 3-4 hours climb of uphill slopes, we will reach Thorongla Pass. which is also the main attraction of Annapurna Circuit Trek. We will enjoy our successful Trek there and take some beautiful pictures capturing the memories.

      This point can let you view two big and famous trekking regions of Nepal. Annapurna Region and Mustang region.

      Now after the pass, we will enter into mustang region. Today our stay will be at Muktinath (3800m). It will take normally 2 hours downhill.

      Overnight at Muktinath

    • Muktinath to Jomsom (2,715m/8,910ft): 5-6 hours

      Today our camp will be Jomsom. We will either trek or drive to Jomsom.

      It will normally take  5-6 hours by trek and 1 hour by drive. If you decide to trek down then you will visit one of the most historic villages in mustang Village known as Kagbeni.

      You will witness small mud houses and old temples with beautiful Tibetan lifestyle. your trek will be a worth decision going through Kagbeni.

      Overnight at Jomsom

    • Day 16
    • Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara: 25 minutes

      Today you will have a 30 min morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara early in the morning. Jomsom gets hit by strong wind after 12 pm hence afternoon flight is not possible.

      As you reach Pokhara in the morning before 10 am you use this day to explore the beautiful lakeside city. You can get adventure activities such as Bunjee and Paragliding in Pokhara. If you mention Sherpa Himalaya Team about the need for adventure activity then it would be appreciated and time will be managed accordingly.

    • Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu: 6 hours

      Today we will fly / Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu as planned with Company.  You will be picked by the Sherpa Himalaya representative and dropped at Hotel.

      After this beautiful and adventurous Pisang Peak Climb, you can have a proper rest at your hotel.

    • Free Day in Kathmandu

      Today will be a free day. Today you can prepare for your departure and also make a short city tour around and also use the day for shopping for some gifts for your family.

    • Final Departure

      Today morning your Sherpa Himalaya representative will be there at your hotel for the last meet. You will be dropped at the airport considering airport time.

      Sherpa Himalaya will thank you for an amazing time together and handover Buddhist Scarf (Kha-tak) which symbolizes peace, prosperity, Long life, and Harmony to everyone, and a certificate for your completion of  Pisang Peak with Sherpa Himalaya.
