Thorong peak (6,144 m) climbing is one of the rewarding and technically difficult peaks climbing in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Thorong peak is a beautiful snow peak standing to the south of the Thorung La in Annapurna region. This peak climbing is the excellent combination of the classic Annapurna round trek passing through the high pass of Thorong La Pass and rewarding Thorong peak climbing. Thorung La peak climbing was opened recently for the adventurer’s affecter Nepal government derestricted the trek to Manang valley.
Thorong peak (6,144 m) climbing starts after we start trekking from the lowland valley of Bensi Sahar. Our trekking trail takes us through the Marsyangdi River, lowland farms, villages, forests, falls, hills and dales offering a diverse range of flora and fauna and the most spectacular mountain scenery of Annapurna and Manaslu to reach Tetang. The region is mostly inhabited by Gurung people practicing typical culture and traditions. Here you get an opportunity to experience the rich culture of these people and climb through the most demanding pass in the region. From Tetang the trekking trail descends via Gya La at (3,970 m.) to join the main route from Manang to Ranipauwa. Now passing the Thorung La pass we head up to the summit of the peak. The summit of this spectacular peak offers the most magnificent mountain view of the Nilgiri peak, Tilicho peak, Dhaulagiri range, Annapurna range along with the beautiful scenery of the Mustang region and beautiful Kali Gandaki valley. You can’t get the information of the region in the maps of Nepal.
As you are picked from Tribhuwan International Airpot, Kathmandu you will be accommodated in a three-star level Hotel with Bed and Breakfast. We accommodate on the basis of twin shared room. A single room can be also accommodated upon your request. Your room will be facilitated with attached restrooms in the Kathmandu. During the Trekking premises, in some places, they only have a shared washroom and restroom. As you reach higher elevation single rooms may be difficult to manage.
During our Trek Authentic Nepali food is available and more common. You will also get international Cuisine such as Continental, Italian, Indian, etc. Breakfast-Dinner will be served as per lodge menu where we stay overnight. Lunch will be served on the trail of Next destination. During Trek, all meals will be provided whereas, only breakfast is served in Kathmandu. Sherpa Himalaya will serve you special last day dinner.
Best Time to Climb
Weather in Nepal is quite a favorable. For trekking we have two peak season; Spring & Autumn. Autumn season starts from September to November whereas Spring season starts from March to May. Beside this two season, you can Climb in Nepal in other months too but it is quite cold in January and rainy in the month of July & August.
We will provide an experienced Climbing guide having fluency in English or any other language. 1 Climbing Sherpa Guide is entitled to every 3 members and 1 porter as per required. In every group, 1 Climbing guide is provided whereas Climbing Sherpa guide (assistant) is provided as per the size of the group. The proper management of Sherpa guides help in safety and make convenient while climbing. Even though if any member gets sick on the way to peak it will not affect the whole team and the rest team can successfully reach the peak.

When it comes to summit a Peak Climbing Gears plays a very vital role and it is very important. It is the main thing that helps you to determine whether you can make the peak success or not. Proper quality to Gears makes you very easy in climbing whereas it also helps you stay away from cold and prevents frostbite and other problems.
Fixed rope, Tent, Kitchen stuff, Main rope, Snow bar, Ice screw, Rock pittan, and Ice hammer, etc are the gear which is provided by the Company.

Arrival day in Kathmandu (1300m)
Upon arrival at Nepal’s heart, the capital known as Kathmandu, via Tribhuwan International Airport, we will welcome you warmly and take you to the hotel where you will stay overnight. We will brief you shortly on your upcoming Trek with us after refreshment. We will also introduce you to your trekking guide and team guide. We will take you on a short visit of local area and one of the most popular local restaurants with delicious Nepalese food, cultural music and ethnic dance, if there is enough time assuming your flight is on time. This will give you a glimpse into the uniqueness of our country. If you arrive late in the evening or even night, there is always the next day.
Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation
After breakfast, we will head out for city tour of Kathmandu valley and visit the Durbar Square of Kathmandu, Boudhnath Stupa, Pashupatinath temple, and Swyambhunath Stupa. After the tour is over, we will gather to discuss in brief, the tour itinerary and other information. We will then check clothing and trekking equipment you will require during our travel.
Drive from Kathmandu to Besi Sahar
After early breakfast we will start our road trip which will be a long one. It will take approximately 8 to 10 hours to reach Besisahar. We will see more of roadside Nepal that portrays many villages, rivers, farms, terrace farming, mountains and sceneries. Overnight stay at Syange Guesthouse.
Dharapani to Chame (2,710m/8,891feet), 5 - 6 hours
On this day, we will trek relatively longer and our destination will be Chame. The route to Chame from Dharapani is full of panoramic views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV. We will encounter many landslides and landscapes on our route. Although Chame is a remote place, it is also the administrative center of the Manang District. Overnight stay at Chame.
Chame to Pisang (3,300m/10824feet), 5 - 6 hours
Afeeter breakfast we will trek to Pisang. On the way, we will come across a gigantic curved rock face, rising 1500m from the river. This trail is perfect to view Himalayas along the way. As the trail opens up we get surrounded by majestic Himalayan Peaks. Overnight stay at Lower Pisang.
Pisang to Manang (3,500m/11,482feet), 6 - 7 hours
The trek to Manang from Pisang offers two distinct routes that we can follow. We recommend to follow upper route because it provides awesome scenery than lower route. There are two routes that we can follow today. We can find a large monastery at Manang that we can visit at evening. Overnight in Manang.
Manang: Acclimatization day
We will set aside this day again for acclimatization to minimize the chances of any member being affected by AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). We will hike shortly to stay active as well. Overnight in Manang.
Manang to Yak Kharka (4,110m/13,484feet): 3 - 4 hours
We will start our uphill trek from Manang village via a valley valley of Jarsang Khola. The trail portrays pastures, juniper trees along will gradual elevation. Our route will cross Ghunsa village and will lead us to grazing meadows of horses and yaks. We will take every measure to ensure that every member is safe from altitude sickness. We will stay overnight at Yar Kharka.
Yak kharka to Thorang Phedi: (4420m/14501feet), 3-4 hours
Throang Phedi is at an elevation of 4420m which will be our destination for this day. It will be an uphill trek. We will cross a river with suspension bridge and reach Thorang Phedi. Thorang Phedi is the last village before Thorang La Pass. Overnight in Thorang Phedi
Thorong Phedi to Thorong Peak Base Camp (5200m), 3-4 hours
We will begin from Thorong peak Phedi and our ultimate destination of the day will be Thorong peak base camp. It will take about 4 hours to reach Thorong Peak Base Camp from Thorong Phedi. Afeeter reaching the base camp we will rest and prepare for summit day. Overnight at tented camp.
Summit to Thorong peak (6100m) and trek down to Muktinath (3810m), 9-10 hours
We will start early to avoid high winds. Afeeter breakfast we will begin ascending Thorong pass (5416 m). We will be able to view U shaped Kali Gandaki valley which will be shining from ray of morning sun. Further ahead, we will see Dhaulagiri I, II and III. Afeeter that our trek will be in gentle slope with steep cliff through sacred land to Muktinath. We will then descend down todarwds Muktinath while visiting Buddhist and Hindu temples en route. Overnight at Muktinath.
Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2500m), 5-6 hours
We will wake up early from the sounds of temple bells and we will visit the famous pilgrimage center, Muktinath Temple. Afeeter having breakfast we will trek to Kagbeni which will be fairly easy. The trail will then descend through a dramatic, arid landscape all the way to Kagbeni. To reach Kagbeni we must travel on either side of the Kaligandaki River. The lefeet fork will continue up the river to Kagbeni and we will have lunch there. Few more hours of walking from Muktinath, we will reach Jomsom. Overnight at Jomsom.
Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara (8 20m), 20 min.
We will fly back to Pokhara via early flight. Afeeter reaching Pokhara, we can take a rest or explore surrounding locality of Pokhara and even do some souvenir shopping. Our guides will always help you with both souvenir shopping or sightseeing. Farewell dinner at night and overnight stay at Pokhara.
Pokhara to Kathmandu
We will start our road trip early morning or we shall fly back to Kathmandu via early flight. Flight will cost you supplement money and will take about 35 minutes whereas road travel will take 6-7 hours. After reaching Kathmandu, we can take a rest or explore surrounding locality of Kathmandu and even do some souvenir shopping. Our guides will always help you with both souvenir shopping or sightseeing. Farewell dinner at night and overnight stay at Kathmandu.
Free Day in Kathmandu
This day is set aside for unforeseen conditions. This day is also reserved for proper rest and shopping at Kathmandu. One can enjoy local Thamel market or rest on this day. Overnight at Kathmandu.
If your schedule is to departure from Kathmandu we would drop you to the airport as per your schedule or you can extend your holiday if you have time.
