Sherpa Himalaya offers a climb of Saribung peak (6346 m.) expedition climbing is recently introduced mountain expedition ideal for the explorers those who wish to get off the beaten track. Saribung is located in remote parts of Mustang region of Damodar Himal, close to the border of China (Tibet). The trails are rugged, cutting high into cliff sides, and pass villages that havechanged little over the centuries. The trek start from Phu and then ascend to Saribung pass and enter in the Mustang “Hidden Valley” and return to Jomsom.from where we can fly to Pokhara and then on back to Kathmandu. During the trekking, trekkers meet different villages, monasteries, culture and religion of Tibetan style every day. The main important thing is spectacular mountain scenery, which will see from the top of Mt.Saribung. we trek to Phu Valley in Manang district at Besi Shahar and follows the Upper Mustang Trek to Lo-Manthang and Lury Gompa before heading off into the wilds of Namta Khola Valley.

The 26 days Saribung Peak Climbing journey, a newly explored but popular trek, encompasses the remote regions of Nepal Himalayas – Jomsom, Mustang “Hidden Valley”, Nar-Phu Valley and many other landmarks of Damodar Himal in the company of majestic mountain sceneries, diverse cultures, and geographical variations. The Saribung Peak (6,387m) close to the border of Nepal and Tibet lies in Damodar Himal. Though the peak climbing journey is very much pleasant and easy at times the climbers have to cross the high passes like Saribung La over 5,600 meters and many other. At some sections, the trail even passes through the off-the-beaten-tracks and thereby results into the summit of Mt. Saribung. In over all, the panoramic mountain vistas form the top of Mt. Saribung, journeying through the rugged landscapes, and encountering the very much primitive culture of the region bring you an everlasting adventure experience in your life.

Accommodations

As you are picked from Tribhuwan International  Airpot, Kathmandu you will be accommodated in a three-star level Hotel with Bed and Breakfast.  We accommodate on the basis of twin shared room. A single room can be also accommodated upon your request. Your room will be facilitated with attached restrooms in the Kathmandu. During the Trekking premises, in some places, they only have a shared washroom and restroom. As you reach higher elevation single rooms may be difficult to manage.

Meals

During our Trek Authentic Nepali food is available and more common. You will also get international Cuisine such as Continental, Italian, Indian, etc. Breakfast-Dinner will be served as per lodge menu where we stay overnight. Lunch will be served on the trail of Next destination. During Trek, all meals will be provided whereas, only breakfast is served in Kathmandu. Sherpa Himalaya will serve you special last day dinner.

 

Best Time to Climb

Weather in Nepal is quite a favorable. For trekking we have two peak season; Spring & Autumn. Autumn season starts from September to November whereas Spring season starts from March to May. Beside this two season, you can Climb in Nepal in other months too but it is quite cold in January and rainy in the month of July & August.

Climbing

We will provide an experienced Climbing guide having fluency in English or any other language. 1 Climbing Sherpa Guide is entitled to every 3 members and 1 porter as per required. In every group, 1 Climbing guide is provided whereas Climbing Sherpa guide (assistant) is provided as per the size of the group. The proper management of Sherpa guides help in safety and make convenient while climbing. Even though if any member gets sick on the way to peak it will not affect the whole team and the rest team can successfully reach the peak.

When it comes to summiting a Peak Climbing Gears plays a very vital role and it is very important. It is the main thing that helps you to determine whether you can make the peak success or not. Proper quality to Gears makes you very easy in climbing whereas it also helps you stay away from cold and prevents frostbite and other problems.

Fixed rope, Tent, Kitchen stuff, Main rope, Snow bar, Ice screw, Rock pittan, and Ice hammer, etc are the gear which is provided by the Company.

Details Itinerary

Upon arrival at Nepal’s heart, the capital known as Kathmandu, via Tribhuwan International Airport, we will welcome you warmly and take you to the hotel where you will stay overnight. We will brief you shortly on your upcoming Trek with us after refreshment. We will also introduce you to your trekking guide and team guide. We will take you on a short visit of local area and one of the most popular local restaurants with delicious Nepalese food, cultural music and ethnic dance, if there is enough time assuming your flight is on time. This will give you a glimpse into the uniqueness of our country. If you arrive late in the evening or even night, there is always the next day.

We will take early breakfast and reach Tribhuvan International Airport’s domestic terminal. We will then fly to Pokhara. The flight will cost supplement so we can choose road drive as well. If we drive to Pokhara, probably will reach there on evening. The road travel is recommended as the drive will be along country side Nepal providing awesome views of surrounding landscapes. We will stay overnight at Pokhara

The early morning flight will take us to Jomsom. After having breakfast at Jomsom, we will begin our trek towards Lubra passing through the trail over Kaligandaki River. After visiting at Bon-Po monastery at Lubra, our route will continue towards Eklebatti. After an hour walk from Eklaibhatti we will reach Kagbeni. We will visit the red-painted Gompa which is believed to be about 1000 years old at Kagbeni. Overnight at Kagbeni.

We will start our trek and continue towards Tsaile village. After three hours of walking, we will reach Tangbe village over the bank of Kaligandaki River in the company of beautiful landscapes, the Buddhist Chhörtens and Maniwalls. Furthermore, another one hour’s walk will lead us to Chhusang village. After having lunch at Chhusang, we will continue along the bank of Kaligandaki River. While in this part of the trail we will see 16 caves above the tunnel of Kaligandaki River. Next, the trail will go steep upward to take us to Tsaile. Tsaile is a small village with a fantastic view of Nilgiri Himal and the Kaligandaki River. Overnight at Tsaile.

We will begin the day treking through an unstable trail to reach a small pass on the trail and from the pass the trail will move forth to reach at Samar village where we will have our lunch. Further from Samar we will reach Chungsi cave monastery. Walking two hours we will reach a monastery where Guru Padmasambhava meditated in 8th century. From the monastery our journey will move forth to reach at Syangmochen Village and then the trail will link us to Ghiling. Overnight at Ghiling.

On this day, we will trek to Lo-Mangthang, a viewpoint with a magnificent view of Nilgiri, Tilicho, Annapurna I and Bhrikuti peak all visible from a single spot. The trail will first descend to Charang Chu Canyon and then it will climb steeply further. The trail will gradually ascend to the elevation of 3,850m as we will reach Lo, from where we will witness the beautiful and strange Lo-Mangthang Valley. Overnight at Lo-Mangthang.

We will explore the surrounding areas on this day. We will visit Namgyal Gompa and Tingkhar. Namgyal Gompa is situated on a hilltop which also serves as an important monastery of the local community and also as a local court of law. After visiting Namgyal Gompa we will continue the tour towards Tingkhar, the last main village to the northwest of Lo-Mangthang. We will also visit the Tall Champa Lakhang "God house" the red Thugchen Gompa, Chyodi Gompa and the Entrance Hall which are the main attraction of this town. Another attraction will be the four- storey building of the Raja's palace as well as the surrounding panoramic views of the Himalaya. Overnight at Lo-Mangthang.

This section of the trip will leaves Lo-Manthang village behind as we will head towards Yara. After 4 hours’ journey we will be reach Dhi Village. Then the trail will descend down to a small stream from where the trail will then climb up to reach Yara Village. Overnight at Yara village.

We will head out to Luri Gompa after morning breakfast. A short steep ascent will take us to Luri Cave Monastery (4,005m) – the oldest and most famous cave monastery in the Mustang region which was constructed in the 15th century. After that we will visit another monastery which is situated below of Luri Cave Monastery. Overnight at Luri.

After breakfast we will descend through the gorge to join the main Yara trail. It will be a fantastic walk from downhill to hilltop through the grazing pastures. At 4,780m, the mountain trekking route will cross a wide grassy plateau that will offer fabulous views of Mount Dhaulagiri. The trail will further continue climbing up to a pass (4,940m) and then descending down to Ghuma Thanti. Overnight at Ghuma Thanti.

After warm breakfast we will trek to a pass at 5,320 meters from where we will view magical views of the Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna I. Then the trail will make a steep descent to the bottom of the Parche khola and then it will climb up a long steep slope. Further ahead the trail will make a long crossing from hill down to hilltop and reach a pass at 5,490 meter. While moving ahead from the high pass, the trail will take us to the sacred site of Damodar Kunda. At this site we will observe the sacred and pristine lakes situated in the yard of Damodar Himal. We will reach Namta Khola just before evening. Overnight at Namta Khola.

Our trail for the day will pass through a high altitude route and the landscapes will resemble like the Tibetan Plateau until reaching at Saribung Base Camp. En route we will view glorious mountain landscapes and enjoy isolated villages. We will set up tents at Saribung Base Camp. Overnight at Base Camp.

We will explore Saribung base camp and rest properly. We will visit the surrounding hills of the Saribung Base Camp and prepare for summit. Team guide will provide last minute preparatory training and techniques to use proper gear. The acclimatization day will help us prepare for the further climbing journey. Overnight at Base Camp.

After breakfast we will start walking on the moraines of a glacier and hard snowy trail. It will be a slow walk as we have to show utmost patience. The mountain trail journey will be accompanied by views of the Khumjunggar Himal (6,959m), and the Damodar Himal. Overnight at Camp I.

From camp I we will climb Saribung peak as there are no basecamps in between the peak and Base camp I. We will conquer Saribung Peak which is our ultimate destination. It will also be the highest point we will achieve during our journey. We will start early morning and reach the top before noon. From the summit of Saribung we will view outstanding scenery of Gyajikang, Himlung, Bhrikuti, etc. and then descend down to Saribung base camp after successful conquest. Overnight at Base Camp.

We will start very early as we have to cross Saribung pass and descend down about 1500 meters. Our trek will lead us to cross the Saribung Pass and then the snowy trail will steeply descend down until we reach a small stream on the trail. A short walk from the stream will take us to Nogoru. Overnight at Nagoru.

After breakfast we will continue our trekking day traversing up and down and crossing suspension bridges over at different water streams. En route we will visit a deserted and isolated village. The landscapes during our trek will be barren and lack humidity so we should pack lot of water with us. We will walk past the Phu Khola on a rocky trail and finally reach the Phu village. Overnight at Phu Gaon.

After breakfast we will continue our trekking day traversing up and down and crossing suspension bridges over at different water streams. We will have lunch at Kyang and we will also see the remnants, particularly the ruined forts of the Khampa settlement (the place which Khampa refugees from Tibet). We will walk past the Phu Khola on a rocky trail and finally reach the Meta village. Overnight at Meta Village.

After breakfast we will visit the local Police Check post where officials will check our documents and we will also get a permit. Our trail will go along the River bank of Soti Khola through wonderful pine forests, streams and suspension and will reach Dharmasala. We will descend steeply towards Meta Koto village. Finally we will arrive on the Koto village, where we will have a very good view of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. Overnight at Koto village.

We will begin our trek in the morning towards Dharapani passing through pine and fir forests. We will also visit the white washed monastery at Bagarchhap en route. Then we will continue our trek to reach Danaque. We will have a good view of Mt. Manaslu and Peak 29 from Danaque. Our trail will further continue along the glimpse of Annapurna II. Finally we will arrive in Dharapani village. Overnight at Dharapani village.

Included in the Cost
